Finnigans

Finnigans, established in 1877, by James Finnigan, was one of the country’s oldest dance halls. After it’s closure in November 2005 it was reported in the Manchester Advertiser on 14/07/06, that the dance hall on Queen’s Road, Cheetham Hill, was gutted as flames ripped through the building. The dance academy taught Ballroom to generations and throughout it’s history it was run by the Finnigan family.
We would like to contact relatives of the Finnigans, in particular Julie Laird, to let her know of our plans to dance the Military Two Step, invented by James Finnigan, at the Whitworth Social.
